Astral Travel For Beginners - 4 Rules for Your First Astral Projection Experience

Who else is fascinated by the art and science of astral projection? Are you just starting to experiment and need a little guidance? If so... THIS article, and the 4 rules below were written with YOU in mind! Curious to know more? Continue reading as we take a closer look below!
Rule #1: Set no expectations. (but BELIEVE you can do it)
There is a lot of new age nonsense out there when it comes to all kinds of spiritual experience. Astral projection is NO different. You CAN do it... but you've GOT to filter the fluff. Don't go into the experience of astral projection with some sort of lofty idea about what is going to happen, simply because you were promised a life changing experience on your first try. It rarely happens that way, and holding on to this idea leads more folks to fail and give up... than anything else.
Rule #2: Say no to DRUGS.
That should sound silly in an astral projection article, BUT... the simple truth is, about 20% of the folks teaching astral travel preach using THC, different herbs, natural "medicines", and artificial accelerators as well. The truth is, while those things CAN work, and may allow you to speed up the altered state experience, you'll never know how much of the experience was real, versus a hallucination or after affect of chemicals in your brain. (plus the BEST OBE experiences are 100% natural, and that's the ONLY high you'll ever need!)
Rule #3: Find a Friend
You'll have much better luck, and a much more profound experience, if you can find someone to experiment and explore with for sure. Plus it makes it more fun... and you can document, detail and describe your experiences together, as a tandem or small group. (it also obviously helps to verify and validate that the experience was real, if 2 or more people have the same shared experiences, it's MUCH more difficult to describe away as a hallucination or imaginary trip that didn't really happen)
Rule #4: Avoid Caffeine for 24 hours
This is a rule I often have a difficult time following myself. (I love coffee and drinks LOTS of it!) But, adrenaline will affect your ability to relax your mind enough to facilitate the experience. Remember, mediation, or deep relaxation is critical for allowing the consciousness to shift out of the body. Stimulants are the enemy of the ethereal realms... and will severely affect your ability to have the experience in the first place.
Lastly, don't over think it. Spiritual experiences are your birthright... and natural state outside of our cultural conditioning. When you drop all thought, fear, worry and community conditioning, the spiritual state, of which astral projection is certainly 1... becomes eminently available. (and a whole lot of fun as well!)

What Is the Silver Cord? The Inside Scoop on Weird Out of Body Phenomena That MAY Be Real

What is the silver cord in out of body and astral projection literature supposed to mean? Does it symbolize something in our collective unconscious, or is it a real thing that connects our physical body to our spiritual self?
The funny thing is, even if you are hard core, true blue believer in psychic and paranormal experiences, the silver cord is a pretty controversial topic.
I've seen arguments break out amongst people who experiment with, and regularly have out of body experiences, or astral travel adventures, with some believing they are real, and others believing they are simply a construction of the imagination. (and NOT emblematic of an authentic spiritual experience)
Some common thoughts?
Some believe that the silver cord connects the ethereal body with the physical. (and separation can lead to physical death)
Others believe that the silver cord is only a metaphor, or a psychic "archetype" that is passed on from generation to generation, and somehow gets embedded in the awareness of the astral traveler... hence, they believe it's real, and there.
Others like myself, simply aren't sure! Why? Because I've had plenty of OBE's, and have never seen a silver cord of any kind, YET... at the very same time, it strikes me as odd that so many unrelated people see the same sort of visual imagery in the out of body experience, and have it NOT be something that is there for some.
As a matter of fact, there is some reference to a silver cord going back hundreds of years, and across many different cultures, continents and centuries of time, making it very unlikely to me that's it a complete fabrication.
Also, many people believe that the soul, or spiritual self leaves the body every night during sleep... and the "subtle" body, flies freely without any cord or connection with your physical body, and only returns when you awake and regain ordinary awareness. (or at least what we consider to be ordinary awareness, the OBE state might be the REAL world and THIS one... only a illusion:-)
Did you know, for example, that in Hindu and some Buddhist literature, the subtle body or etheric energy of every person enters what are called the "Bardo" realms that the soul occupies between consciousness and sleep? This is the same place that many OBE'rs visit during the astral travel or out of body experience, and is also very similar to the "heaven" that many people who come close to death, but are revived... report as well.
What do you think about the silver cord? Have you seen one? Have you had an OBE experience? Many people who experiment with binaural beats claim to see a silver cord as well, which in my mind, might be a connection. (no pun intended..;-)

Astral Projection Basics

If you have the need to see a family member who has passed on or a friend that is no longer on this plane of existence you can once you learn to harness the power of astral projection techniques. Every person has the ability to seek astral knowledge it lies within us all. With the ability to astral travel you will be able to see other realms, other worlds and even the final frontier of outer space. If you have ever had a dream while you were sleeping then you have most likely been in many of the different astral realms before.
Your essence (soul) that is inside your physical body can travel outside of its self. Astral projection is often referred to as an OOBE (Out of body experience).
Astral travel and projection are ancient beliefs within many cultures and nationalities. Modern science does not believe in the astral planes or astral realms. There have been many accounts of documented proof of the occurrence but for many if they do not understand it then to them it is not real. Our coven has done many experiments with astral projection for non believers and many are astonished when you can tell them what they were wearing or what they had for dinner last night. Many people have trouble remembering their OOBE experiences. In our class at the local college we stress the importance of keeping a tape recorder and a dream journal and using them immediately after you do a session. For many people when they come out of a trance they feel disoriented and discombobulated, this is the best time to record your journey into the higher planes.
You should pay close attention to what you see and hear in the astral realms as many times the universe has something to tell you. When you dream a door to your subconscious mind opens and a plethora of important information can come to light. Many travelers have the ability for precognition which gives them the foresight to know the future, to see what is coming and change it or let it be. When you are first starting out it may seem difficult to reach a semiconscious state to begin your astral travels, but I can tell you 9 out of 10 people who keep trying will learn the techniques and become one with the energy of all. You must be diligent and you will succeed.

A Simple Set Of Astral Projection Steps

Different people may have different astral projection steps that they take when trying to achieve astral projection. If this is the first time you are trying this unique experience and you find that you are unsure about what you should or should not do, there is no need to fret because one set of steps is readily available for you here. There are other methods that have different sets of steps you could try as well so try each method and see which one works best for you.

The first among the astral projection steps is making sure your physical surroundings are free of distractions and this includes people. Ask not to be disturbed, turn your mobile phone off, unplug your telephone, and make sure you are in a location where you will not be easily disrupted by the ringing of a doorbell, dogs barking, car horns blaring, etc. Clear your mind of all your troubles and worries and prepare yourself for astral projection. Take note that astral travel can actually be done even if there are distractions since it is simply a matter of training yourself to do so but since you are attempting to achieve astral travel for the first time or after an unsuccessful series of trials, it is best to start with an interruption-free environment.

The next few astral projection steps consist of being able to slip into a trance and focusing. Find a spot where you will be able to feel totally relaxed and do not allow yourself to be limited to the conventional idea that you can only use a bed but do make sure that whatever you do choose to use can give you ample neck support. Meditate and relax every single muscle in your body until they feel like jelly and once you have done that, you are now prepared to slip into a trance. This will allow you to have that sinking feeling necessary to achieve astral projection but make sure you do not fall asleep and one way you can prevent this from happening is by going further downward with each breath you release. In order to have better concentration, you can use a metronome or an analogue clock that makes a ticking sound with each movement of the minute hand. If you prefer using something visual instead of something audible, choose an object that you can focus your mind on and will not allow you to become distracted.

After the aforementioned astral projection steps, you can move on to channeling your energy and having control over it. There are different ways you can do this but the most important thing to remember is to focus on something and take its energy and allow it to flow through your entire body until you get that tingling feeling. Then, take that energy and transform it into a usable shape.

The last among the astral projection steps is about letting go and allowing your mind to go ahead and move away from your body. You will feel as if you are floating or sinking. This is astral projection.

Astral Projection Dangers - 4 Truths That Only Seasoned Practitioners Know

Although a number of people are intrigued with the idea of leaving their physical body, few have the courage to actually try it out. All human beings are naturally afraid of the unknown. Every beginner is afraid of the little-known astral projection dangers. Practitioners claim that astral projection is as safe and as dangerous as anything else in real life. In other words, you safety is your responsibility when you astral project and roam the astral realms.

Let us now examine a few astral projection dangers and ascertain whether they are real dangers or just myths.

1. Death

Many beginners are afraid that they would die when they are outside their bodies. So far, there has been no recorded case of death due to astral projection. So, the chances that you might die when you are out of your body are very remote indeed.

However, if you have a weak heart, you had better not project. The shock of seeing yourself out of your body might be too much for you and this could trigger a heart attack.

Someone could kill you when you are out of your body; but in this case, the cause of death would not be astral projection. Many seasoned practitioners also believe that negative entities can sever your silver cord; but the chances of such a thing happening are very slim.

2. Possession

Many people are afraid that a demon or some negative entity will possess their body when they are out of it. This is not possible because nobody can get into your body without your permission. However, some negative entities might think it is a good idea to tease you, especially if your vibrations are low. Before projecting, you must learn about ways to protect yourself from these negative entities.

3. Getting Lost

The fear of getting lost while astral travelling and being unable to find one's way back to the physical body is absolutely groundless and baseless. You will never forget the way back to your body just as you will never forget your way back to your house. You only have to will to be back in your body; and you will find yourself back.

However, you might be sidetracked or delayed. In this case, you simply have to request an angel, God, or your spiritual guide to help you.

4. Demons and Negative Entities

Astral projectors have come across malevolent beings, demons, and negative entities. But only a small percentage of practitioners have such experiences to report. Negative entities can be found only in the lower planes; and you will be alright if you steer clear of these planes. You simply have to learn some psychic self-defense techniques in case you meet some negative entities when you are on your travels; and you will be perfectly alright.

Astral projection dangers, therefore, are almost nonexistent. Having an OOBE and astral travelling are fun activities. But, you must know everything about astral projection before attempting it. You must also take the help of divine beings, ascended masters, saints, spiritual guides, and so on to protect your physical body, your astral body, and your bedroom when you are out of your body and exploring the astral realms.

Simple Tips On How to Achieve Astral Projection

What is astral projection and how can it be achieved? Astral projection or out-of-body experience (OBE) is not difficult to achieve, if you follow the right techniques. If you are a beginner, you would need a little bit of practice to achieve the desired results.

It is not very difficult to achieve, even though there are many people who claim to have tried to experience the sensation of OBE and failed repeatedly. Here is a list of simple tips, which would help you achieve astral projection.

- First and foremost, you would need to be relaxed before you start to experience astral projection. If you mind is troubled, you would not be able to achieve the sensation you desire.

- Experts suggest that the best time to try OBE is early in the morning. Your mind is in a calm state and it would be easier to achieve it.

- There are many people who try to achieve it before sleep but maybe unable to do so due to tiredness or other distractions.

- After you are able to achieve a calm state of mind, you can start to focus at a particular point on your forehead. You will now be in a state of meditation and would be able to separate your mind from the physical body.

- Most beginners fail at this point, as they are unable to pull the body from the mind.

- If you are able to separate the mind from the body, you would experience a sensation where you would be able to view your physical body from the outside. This unique sensation is known as out-of-body experience or OBE.

- The sensation could last for a few seconds and with practice you could prolong it to a couple of minutes.

You would be able to get back to your normal self within a few minutes. All you need is a little bit of practice and patience, which will help you achieve astral projection easily, whenever you desire.

Top 5 Common Experiences Of Astral Projection

What do you make of the astral projection stories when you hear them? Are these fact or fiction? Are people really telling the truth? Is it true that people are able to leave their physical body and look at things from an outsider's perspective? Is there a common thread that runs through all these stories?

It is important to remember that each individual is different and any out-of-body experience, which they have, will also be unique. No two individuals will have the same astral projection experience. Here are some interesting facts about astral projection stories.

1. OBE is a spontaneous reaction in most people, while there are millions of people all over the world who claim to induce the sensation using various techniques. It requires practice to achieve this wonderful sensation and most beginners fail in their initial attempts.

2. It is an experience where you are able to view your physical body from the outside. It helps you get a totally different perspective about yourself.

3. Many people claim that their body seems to float in thin air, while they are in the astral projection state. They feel weightless and seem to be traveling in space, exploring new horizons.

4. People seem to connect with their past during this sensation. It is as if they are visiting a part of their life, which they had left behind. Some people say that the experience helps them understand the meaning of some of their past actions.

5. When you are in an astral projection state, you would be able to do things, which are normally considered impossible. You would be able to touch any object or travel to any place, while you are experiencing the sensation. There is no limit to the kind of experiences you would have, while having OBE.

Although each astral projection story is unique, you will find that there is a common thread, which unites all of them together.

Astral Projection Stories - Fact or Fiction?

Amid boundless skepticism, many people remain curious about astral travel. Astral projection is an out of body experience. An individual's astral body leaves his or her living physical body entering the astral plane. Although, through the years, a lot has been learned about the possibility of astral travel and OBEs (out of body experiences), many questions remain unanswered.

Tales of astral projection began long ago. There is historical evidence referencing astral

experiences in ancient Egypt, China, India, and Japan. The Inuit people have told of exceptional individuals that could travel to remote locations for insight and helpful information. The yaskomo of the Waiwai, from the Amazon, is said to have performed "soul flights." These flights are made to consult cosmological beings for instruction or helpful advice.

Many stories of astral happenings have certain things in common. Of course, like any other experience, no two astral experiences are exactly the same. However, there are many tales of astral occurrences that include a number of similarities. A few of the similarities are settings, modes, and abilities.

Many astral projection stories refer to events that occurred during surgery or serious illness. Most people describe this experience as becoming an observer. They say their astral body leaves their physical body to become an on-looker. These people tell about watching the surgical procedure or observing doctors, nurses, and visitors in the room. Usually, they are able to view the activity, and their own physical bodies, while hovering or floating above. In some stories, the astral body stands or sits in a corner or doorway to observe.

The ability to fly is frequently mentioned in tales of astral events. Some individuals report flying to different locations. Many people associate this experience with déjà vu. Astral travelers can recall details of visiting otherwise unknown locations. Some practitioners believe that when déjà vu occurs, the person recognizes an unfamiliar location from his or her astral journey.

Another common happening with OBE's is meeting people who have been dead for some time. This opportunity is the motivational force behind many attempts at astral projection. In these cases, the person who experiences it can hug or shake hands with the astral body of a lost loved one. An astral traveler can meet deceased celebrities and historical figures, also. According to experts in the field, it is possible to meet another living astral traveler, who has temporarily left his or her physical body, while experiencing an OBE. This occurrence is called a doppelganger.

Although many people are curious about out of body experiences, fear prevents them from making any attempt to experience an astral event. Experts proclaim that there is nothing to fear and that astral projection is perfectly safe. Avid practitioners say that the astral body is invincible. It cannot suffer any type of injury. Aside from physical injury, many people are afraid of spiritual or religious repercussions. A lot of people think that astral happenings are demonic or satanic in nature. Yet, others propose that astral experiences would not be possible without a close relationship to God. There are many questions that remain unanswered about astral projection. However, anyone interested in the subject can find quite a bit of information by doing some research online.

The Four Categories Of Astral Projection Stories

You will probably find countless stories of various astral projection and out-of-body experiences. Well at least you should people have been astral traveling whether on purpose or not for 5000 years since the ancient Egyptians. Every story you find will of course be different but I am here to tell you that every astral travel occurrence can be put into one of 4 groups.

I. The first kind of astral projection and one of the rarer types is when the astral projector successfully attempts to leave his physical body but when they do so they decide they want to keep the conscious inside of their physical body. So they only partially leave their physical body and have their astral watcher simply record what they see and give it back to the one who created it.

II. Probably the simplest report of OBE and often the most appealing to people who want to learn how to depart their body is reports of people who have astral projected on purpose and who put their conscious into their astral body.

III. The rarest reports of OBE (out-of-body experience) is when someone astral projects on accident but their consciousness was not inside the astral body. The reason why these are so rare is because people don't realize that they had accidentally had a OBE.

The astral body will wander aimlessly both on the material plane and in the astral planes and supply the person with random bits and pieces of information. The pieces will be difficult to put together and wont make much sense.

The most common time when someone experiences this form of OBE is when sleeping. At which point when they wake up they will feel tired. Feelings of Déjà vu are most commonly felt in places where your unguided astral body went to.

IV. The most common astral projection story to be found on the internet by far is the stories of people who accidentally left their body and had their consciousness in the astral body.

This simply means the person's consciousness, instead of remaining with the mundane shell or physical body, also travels with the astral body.

This form of OBE is most commonly experienced when one is under extreme trauma. Examples would be when people have near death experiences.

Another common time for people to astral project accidentally is while under surgery. So if you are having a surgery and then find yourself floating from you body. Don't worry your not dead you are just astral projecting.

Astral Projection Stories That Are Out Of This World

One of the best places you can start when investigating astral travel is to check out astral projection stories. Before wanting to spring out there and begin your first voyage, it's a good idea to see what people are experiencing. As you can imagine, people can have a varying array of experiences. Nevertheless, when the universe of astral projection stories are viewed as a whole, there are indeed some common places of overlap. In fact, there are five typical themes that play out often.

The first trend you'll detect across all astral projection stories is the way people report the basic out-of-body experience, by which they see themselves from another point of view. People talk about levitating above themselves. It's as though people are seeing themselves through the eyes of another. It's best to just hear some astral projection stories.

In fact, one piano player talked about how he saw himself looking down while he was playing piano at church, so he was able to enjoy himself as a spectator! What's really wild is that he repots how he was not able to even know what he was going to do next, so it really was as though he was someone else. Still another person explains how they realized 26 years later that they had experienced astral travel when they were 6 years old going through surgery. He comprehends that he was awake during the surgery watching the whole operation.

Second, when assessing astral projection stories, the seemingly most common experience is the report that people are flying. People have a feeling of weightlessness. The "anti-gravity" experience, also described as levitating, is reported by most as pleasurable. One of the astral projection stories most interesting was the man who said he felt like he was a vapor, and he talked about floating around watching himself sleep.

A third common thread in astral projection stories is when people report being able to visit with family and friends that have since passed on. Obviously, many people want to be able to see people they cared about again. And sometimes this is actually a motivation for pursuing astral travel. Interestingly, keep in mind that since it is your astral self reuniting with them, it is actually their astral body as well. I'm not sure that that makes a lot of difference, but it's a revelation worth bearing in mind and people tend to react to that reality in different ways.

The fourth commonality is astral projection stories is how people talk about being able to physically do things they previously could not. A typical example has to do with people simply walking through doors. People talk about going straight through walls. Related to this is the way that sick people become well. In other words, blind people talk about being able to see. Crippled people talk about being able to walk.

The last common thread among the astral projection stories is how people recount visiting places they've never been before, or even seen. This isn't so much about going somewhere, like the Ukraine, that you've never been on vacation to. Rather, while that could be the case, it's also sometimes simply some place that you do not even recognize. And, you might even have some vague feeling that you've been there before. It's not so much that they have been there before in the natural, but maybe in previous astral travel.

Interesting Astral Projection Stories

Astral projection is traveling between this world and the outer world. If you have never had this experience in your life, the first stories you will hear about is like someone is reading fairytale stories to you. As oppose to the astral traveller - it is their nature now.

There are many Astral Projection Stories which people who even never heard of astral tend to believe what they have been told. That is true as most people read or heard about such experiences in the holy books. All this tells that it has been existing for many years. The roots of these stories come from ancient Egypt and China. Where at the times the power of astral was used by the ruling elite to control the masses.

People who just had astral projection meditation describe it as out-of-body experience. Like it could just been a dream or hallucination. What they saw is how their spirits went out of their physical body and then the spirits lifted the body up on its feet. Then they visited places they can't believe they had gone to. A mind blowing journey to the outer world. Astral is what many people talk about the Nirvana.

There are people telling stories how they got cured from death threatening disease after astral projection. This is true as all astral does is using the mind power, the strong believe of the spirits within the mind. According to astral the mind can live without the body but the body is nothing without the spirits. With astral projection there are no borders between the outer world and the tangible life.

You have heard of Deja Vu for sure. What Deja Vu is the aftermath of astral projection. People who have flashes in front of their eye when they go to a place they know they had never visited before. All this sounds a little too much but astral is for real. Astral is nature and nature is what we live into. We do not control nature but nature is within us. The power of spirit to make things happen is proven to be right.

There are people having dreams about something good or bad that is going to happen to some of their friends or relatives. Astral is in your dreams for sure, you just never thought of such power existing. You can't use astral for your own good, bad or to harm someone else. At the same time you can use astral to help others. Experiencing astral projection it provides a great insight that people and objects that exist on other realms are in fact as genuine as we experience any object or person on our earth.

Astral Projection Stories

What really happens during astral projection? If you have come across any astral travel stories, you will realize that each out-of-body experience is unique to each person. No two individuals have the same experience. However, these experiences may have a unifying factor in them. Here are five common occurrences in these stories:

Seeing one's self from a different point of view. A common experience that we gather from these astral projection stories is that the person who has an out-of-body experience finds himself looking at his physical body as though he were in someone else's shoes. A pianist who shared his astral projection experience tells of how he realized he was watching himself perform in a church concert, and for a few seconds, he actually wondered what his physical body would do next.

Another astral traveler who had undergone a leg operation at six-years old, (he was 32 when he finally realized that he had an out-of-body experience at such a young age) recalls that he found himself waking up in the middle of the surgery and watching the doctors performing the operation. Such experiences are typical of astral projection, because this is when the physical and the astral mind separate from each other.

The experience of flying. People who have shared their astral stories recall the feeling of weightlessness, and how, because of this lightness, they often find themselves flying or hovering above their physical bodies. In one such story, the person found himself so "light and vaporous" that he attempted to roll his astral body out of his physical body and later found himself floating in the area and watching his physical self in deep sleep.

You meet people who are long dead. The desire to see loved ones who are long dead is one of the reasons that people are curious to try astral travel. In many astral projection stories we have come across, we've heard of people who have met relatives or family members who have long passed. Keep in mind, however, that the "person" you are meeting, shaking hands with, or hugging during astral projection, is also the astral self of your now deceased loved one.

You can do things that your physical body can't. People who have shared their astral projection stories say they have been able to walk through walls or doors when they reached the astral state. Even people who are said to be blind in real life can see colors vividly in the astral plane once they've managed to do astral project.

You'll visit places you've never seen. One of the most exciting experiences brought about by this experience is the ability to go to physical or astral places one has never visited in real life. In some of the astral projection stories we've come across, we've heard of cases in which individuals who travel to new places will suddenly get this feeling of deja vu in which they realize that they have, in fact, visited this new place before during astral travel.

If your fears are getting the better of you, remember that the best way to enjoy astral travel is to open your mind and take in all the sights and sensations. You will see that, as with many who shared their astral projection stories with us, astral travel is truly an out-of-this-world experience that you shouldn't pass up.
