Mayan Calendar And 2012 Ending Of The Earth Predictions

Mayan calendar, AKA the Aztec calendar is a non secular calendar utilized by the Mayan folks. The calendar is carved on a stone called Aztec stone. Today, visitors can see it at the national Museum of Anthropology and History. The Mayan calendar is also exhibited at the Chapultepec Park, Mexico city. The calendar has 260 days rather than 365 days. Every week has thirteen days. Each week is represented with a special glyph brand. The glyph logos for the 20 weeks have different meanings. The Mayan anticipated that the earth is going to experience a collision with the sun on 21st December 2012. The collision will cause the earth to come to a close. On this date, the earth will experience an equinox.

Many people believed that the Mayan calendar is presaging dooms day on 21st December 2012. In actual fact the Mayan does not believe in endings. Instead, they believe that everything has a cycle. They think the world won't come to an end but experience a new start. Therefore, the year 2012 won't be the year on earth. According to the Mayans, it's going to be the year which humanity enters into a new age. They concluded that human will be more kind and genial towards each other. The Mayans also claim that humanity will stop hating each other on December 2012.

The info from the nation's Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) synchronizes with the Mayan prophecy. NASA states that there'll be no more sun in 2012. According to NASA, sun is powered by gas. Now, the solar system is at 50 year low. This indicates that the sun is less breezy and gassy. Groverfield, the speaker from NASA said that it the Mayan calendar exactingly anticipated this event will happen. Previously, NASA scientists calculated that the sun can persist for another five billions years. However, a lot of the magnetic field strength had lost from the sun. As a consequence, the hydrogen gas is escaping from the sun into the space. When this happens, the sun can't produce adequate energy to generate dynamic solar winds and burn. Groverfield said the earth can still live without the sun. All they need to do is to extend the greenhouse gas emissions.

Everyone has their own opinion about this day. Some people claim the full earth will be destroyed by volcanic eruption. Scientists accept that there'll be no more sun when the day arrives. There are people that believe that the earth will be involved in 3rd world war. The Maya divided the calendar into five cycles. Each cycle lasts for over 5000 years. The Mayans recounted that everyone was eaten by the jaguar in the first cycle. The second cycle comes to a close in air. The third cycle ends In fire. The fourth cycle ends in flood. The 21st century is already in the last cycle. Students that do research on the Mayan culture claim that the earth will be annihilated by quake.

Mayan Calendar has predicted the 2012 end of world or is it because of the mayan calendar structure and lunar cycles? Find more information on the subject at december2012endofworld.com

How to Differentiate Fear From Intuition

Intuition is defined as immediate insight or understanding without conscious reasoning. When we, as people begin the process of learning to listen to and heed our own intuition, we often hit several road blocks along the way. We often receive negative messages from our parents, teachers, or peers at which point we begin to doubt our intuition. Our intuition gets obscured by the fears and beliefs we have erected in front of it. When we lose trust in our intuitive knowledge we begin to close down that channel of information by ignoring it. The good news is, though we may shut out the messages we receive from the higher self, the higher self continues to give them so it is impossible to completely lose the ability to be intuitive.

Some of the road blocks we hit during the process of re- awakening to our intuition are individual, some are unanimous but perhaps the largest unanimous barrier we face in this process is how to separate our intuition which comes from our true self from our fear which comes from our ego self.

Though there is a big difference between intuition and fear, understanding that difference in the moment can prove to be daunting. Our higher selves (the origin of intuition) will not interfere with the experience and free will of our separate physical bodies. It is a choice to heed intuition; it is a choice to even pay attention to it. You must invite intuition. Therefore, fear (which is an emotion that belongs to the physical dimension) easily overrides and obscures intuition.

The process of separating fear from intuition can also be a daunting one because it requires that we become intimately acquainted with our own fears. We must discover them, be honest to ourselves about them, learn to recognize them, address them and learn to dissolve them. Only then can we address what our intuition is telling us. There are many techniques which can be employed in order to address and dissipate our fears, by doing this; their influences no longer control our life. But in order to separate fear from intuition, you must first become acquainted with what your separate fears feel like so that you can identify them when they come up as if they were emotional "flags". You can begin to do this by writing a list of your fears. List every one of your fears that you can think of and keep the list in an easy to access place. When you come across a situation in which you are feeling intense negative emotion, instead of acting on anything, pull out the list and scan it and ask yourself if any of the fears on the list could possibly be creating the sensation. It is an inevitability that you will continue to uncover hidden fears as you advance in your spiritual journey, at which point you can add new ones to the list. If you find one which you think could be causing the sensation, sit in that sensation for a while, becoming intimately aware of its intricacies. Make a study of it. Learn the sensation of that fear. This way, you will begin to recognize those individual fears so that when they come up, you can know that they are not intuition. Intuition comes with a feeling of correctness and affirmation. Intuition will come as a sudden knowing, a gut feeling, thought, image, emotion, or bodily sensation. It will be a quiet, clear and often quick impression. Even if the message of intuition is about something negative, it will come across as being delivered in a "neutral" tone.

We will only experience intense emotion with regards to an intuition when we begin to feed the intuition with negative thoughts and feed it with fear. Fear is a highly emotionally charged sensation. It conveys no feeling of correctness and no affirmation until you logically talk your way into it. Fear reflects the past (past issues and past psychological pain). Perspective is not possible from a state of fear, it is so strong it is almost blinding and delusional and there will be no compassionate or transcendental element to it. False guidance is always rooted in fear. It is false guidance because it comes from the inaccurate assumption that the world is unsafe and that you are not secure, so the guidance you will receive will not be aimed at creating and maintaining freedom, abundance, joy and true self expression. Instead it will be aimed at increasing your degree of control. Genuine intuitive guidance comes from a place of love and the knowledge that you are safe and secure as you are. If strong negative emotion is involved, you should always be suspicious that you are either dealing solely with fear, or that you have clouded an intuition with fear. If, for example, you have a sudden persistent and strong emotional feeling that something bad is going to happen to someone you love... a fear such as the fear of loss is most likely what you are dealing instead of an actual intuitive insight which is informing you of something which is actually impending.

The problem with fear is that it is very persuasive. When we do not uncover it for what it is early on, it catches us in a creation trap. The trap is that once a person gets themselves into a state where they convince themselves based on the feeling of fear that something bad will happen, they often activate a strong enough vibration that they begin to actually create (by virtue of attraction) the negative event. At which point, when it happens they often say... "See... I knew my intuition was right when it said this was going to happen" when it was actually an event which was created based on a fear (which they mistook for intuition) that made them begin to think negative thoughts with enough frequency that it created the very event they feared.

If you find yourself in a place where you have uncovered a fear which is clouding intuition, the best way to get back into the state of receptivity to intuition, is to meditate or center the mind. Quieting the mind when it is alive with fear can be difficult, but it is necessary in order to clear away the mental clutter so that you can access your own inner knowing. Begin by using deep diaphragmatic breathing. This will trigger a relaxation response within the body. Close your eyes, and begin to focus on your breathing. If your mind drifts, without getting frustrated that it has wandered; simply bring it back to your breathing. Do this for as long as it takes for the fear and negative thoughts to fall away leaving behind a quiet peaceful, centered feeling. Sometimes it helps people to listen to music which educes this peaceful, centered state within them. If you find that it is especially hard to concentrate, it can be beneficial to listen to a guided meditation. Once you are centered for a while in that neutral, peaceful state, you have opened yourself to the flow of intuitive information and you can pose your question or ask for intuitive guidance. Once you have posed your question, put forth the intention that you will receive your answer and listen. To truly listen for intuition means to listen with all of your senses. Intuitive messages come in many ways and they come differently to different people. You may hear the answer, or see the answer. You may just "know" the answer. You may get a physical sensation such as a chill or hot flash or feel the answer emotionally. As you practice listening and honoring your intuition you will get better at recognizing the ways by which you receive intuitive information no matter what form it may appear in.

There may be times when you are looking for intuitive guidance that you will not receive a clear answer right away; however, the information may come to you later through other synchronized events or possibly through dreams or in future meditations. If you become frustrated and try to force an answer to come, you will block the flow of intuitive information. Simply trust that if it is a message your higher self wants you to know, it will be made known to you, and if you are on the lookout for it, just at the right time, you will see it. You will recognize it right away. Intuitive messages which are ignored simply get louder and louder in their manifestations until they can no longer be ignored.

If it is truly your goal to become intuitive, you will eventually learn to distinguish the voice of ego from the voice of the true self. Your ego which is driven by fear rationalizes as well as creates reasons why you should not follow the instruction of intuition. Truth however, does not need the rational justification that fear needs to be valid. Truth will simply be conveyed over and over again in the same loving unconditional way until it is received. We must simply remember that true intuitive messages are always in the service of our best interests, it is impossible to cut one's self off from the capability of being intuitive and it is possible to differentiate our fears from the intuitive messages we are receiving every day. All we need is a little practice.

Spooky Legends of Ireland

Ah, the Irish! The original storytellers, they have a rich tradition of myths and legends to share with the rest of the world. In honor of St. Patrick's Day (and because I am married to an Irishman!) I dedicate this article to Ireland's wonderful legends.

The Banshee

The Banshee, or bean-sidhe (woman of the fairy), is one of the best known horror legends. Poets and storytellers refer to the screaming of the banshee as a portent of doom. The original banshee is an ancestral spirit sentenced to forever warn certain ancient Irish families of a pending death in the family. Families such as the O'Neills, the O'Briens, or the O'Gradys have their very own banshee, who will appear often at night, right before someone is about to die.

The banshee can appear in three forms: a young woman, a mother, or an old crone. She wears a grey cloak with a hood, or a winding sheet. If the family doesn't see her, they will certainly HEAR her keening cry across their lands. Her keening has been described as "the cross between an owl and the wail of a woman" or "so piercing, it shatters glass."

Thank goodness my family isn't on the list of 'haunted' Irish families. No banshees for me!

The Dullahan

I wonder where Washington Irving got his inspiration for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow?
In Ireland, the Dullahan is an undead black-robed horseman sans head. The ghoul rides furiously around the Irish countryside upon a coal- black steed, carrying his head in his hand, or on his saddle. His head glows and lights his way. The Dullahan can see with supernatural sight and pick out mortal victims sleeping in their beds. He uses a human spine as a whip, and when he pulls his fire-snorting horse to a stop, a mortal dies.

The Pooka

The Pooka is another dark horse of a different color. This undead equine likes to gallop around after midnight, damaging farms, tearing down fences and scattering the livestock. It is a black horse, with sulphurous yellow eyes and a long untamed mane. The Pooka can change forms to a goblin that demands a share of the harvest crop. Some country folks will leave a small portion or tribute of their crop for the Pooka to take, and hopefully leave them alone.

Ghosts

If you travel to Ireland you will find every bed and breakfast and every castle has its own ghostly tale. Some are tales of ancient ghosts, some are more modern spirits. The stories probably grew out of a rich mixture of Celtic, Roman and Christian mythology, along with a certain dash of Irish humor. I found a vast selection of compilations of Irish ghost stories on Amazon and at the library. Dig in!

Your Zodiac Sign and Romantic Compatibility

Love compatibility in astrology is not ascertained just by zodiac sign alone. However your birth month sign is useful in determining your overall psychology and motivation, which in turn color your view of love and marriage. To understand zodiac sign compatibility, first note that the signs are grouped in different ways, based in shared characteristics.

Zodiac Groupings

Zodiac signs fall into groups of elements or triplicities. There are three signs for every element. The signs are also categorized based in their qualities or quadrupiicities. There are four signs for each quality. All possible combinations of the qualities and elements make twelve zodiac signs: 3 x 4 = 12.

Elements

FIRE: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
WATER: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
EARTH: Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo
AIR: Libra, Aquarius, Gemini

Qualities

CARDINAL: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn
FIXED: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius
MUTABLE: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces

Signs

ARES: fire, cardinal
TAURUS: earth, fixed
GEMINI: air, mutable
CANCER: water, cardinal
LEO: fire, fixed
VIRGO: earth, mutable
LIBRA: air, cardinal
SCORPIO: water, fixed
SAGITTARIUS fire, mutable
CAPRICORN: earth, cardinal
AQUARIUS: air, fixed
PISCES: water, mutable

Your Zodiac Sign Compatibility

The basic rule of astrological sign compatibility is this: A sign is friendliest toward signs that are of the same element as that sign, e.g. water and water sign. The signs that are of active elements - air and fire - are also friendly toward one another. Signs that are of passive elements - earth and water - are sympathetic toward each other too.

Signs that are of different elements but same quality - say, Virgo and Sagittarius - face conflict with each other; yet because they share that quality, they can also be compatible and they stimulate each other to action.

The signs that have neither element nor quality in common are incompatible. This does not mean they cannot have a relationship; however there must be indications of compatibility in other areas of your charts for it to work out happily. (Bear in mind, besides your Sun sign, you also have a Moon sign, etc.)

Sign Compatibility and Frienship

Zodiac signs that belong to the same element strike a cord with one another. When you interact with a person whose Sun sign is compatible with yours, you recognize many things in each other: your ambitions, your values and attitudes are similar. Examples are two people with the Sun in Leo, a brother with a Sun in Scorpio and a sister with a Sun in Cancer, etc. Compatible sun signs can form lifelong friendships with each other, especially if the Suns are in aspect (certain angles measured in your charts) to each other as well. When the Suns are not in aspect, the potential for long-lasting connections is still there but not as strong.

  • Sun in fire signs like Aries and Sagittarius share enthusiasm, courage and love of adventure.
  • Sun in air signs easily connect and understand what each other is trying to communicate.
  • Sun in water signs empathize with each other; there is almost a telepathic link between them.
  • Sun n earth signs recognize the same practicality and stability in each other.

But because compatible Sun signs get along so easily, there is often a lack of challenge. You may be good friends, but not necessarily lovers. There would have to be more stimulating aspects in your astrological charts to inspire romance and sexual attraction. Too much compatibility in fact, doesn't mean more romance; it can actually dampen it because the stimulation is missing.

Another issue with compatible zodiac signs is that you can get into extremes: too much action, too much caution, too much emotion-- you get the idea. Because you are so similar, you also share the same weaknesses.

Zodiac Signs and Attraction

More stimulating are relationships between zodiac signs in compatible but not identical elements: air and fire, and water and earth. These can form strong romantic links.

  • Sun in fire sign and Sun in an air sign balance and support each other. Example: Gemini is full of ideas and doesn't know where to begin; Aries takes a simple and direct approach. Together they pursue a new idea.

  • Sun in an earth sign and Sun in a water sign also balance each other. For example, a Pisces is all dreamy and imaginative; Capricorn is all hard work and worldly ambition. Together they work imaginatively to realize their goals.

Signs that produce both tension and attraction are those that have the same quality.

  • Cardinal signs take action. Example is Cancer and Libra both care about long-lasting relationships. They will take initiative in order to build these connections.

  • Fixed signs are secure and strong. For example, Scorpio and Leo are both fixed signs. Passionate, determined, and unyielding. They are loyal to each other and will pursue their dreams unrelentingly.

  • Mutable signs are creative and adaptable. For instance, Sagittarius and Pisces seek adventure and change are often are religious and philosophical.

But zodiac sun signs are just scratching the surface. Full horoscope love compatibility is an in-depth study that takes an experienced astrologer to interpret. Learn more with quality astrology books that you can buy from your New Age or Occult store, or get them from your local library. Remember that astrology is only a guide that helps you see your potential as a human being and a couple (if you have a partner). Don't rely on the stars alone for your decisions. You have free will; use it!

The Numerology of Amelia Earhart - Aviatrix Heroine

Amelia Earhart was a woman of her time, before her time, in the time where women usually didn't do the daring deeds or have the daring-do of men. She was a heroine among heroes, not simply the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, but the first person, male or female, ever to fly solo over the largest body of water in the world, the Pacific Ocean. Earhart's courage, will, determination, vision and just plain guts are an inspiration to everyone, regardless of gender, age or nationality.

Here are some interesting questions regarding Earhart's life.

  • What master number pattern was dominant in her fame and fortune?
  • What number underscored her need for adventure, speed and freedom?
  • What did Earhart have in common with Oprah Winfrey?
  • What's the connection between Earhart and Howland Island where she mysteriously disappeared?

99-9 Performance/Experience (PE): The Power of Fame

As we learned in the article on Dr. Albert Einstein, the master number 99 is the most powerful energy of public recognition and fame. Einstein had the 99-9 in his Grand Pinnacle, the core of his life. Amelia Earhart had this potent powerhouse as her life's Performance/Experience - the reality of her 2 Lifepath. Therefore, an unavoidable role of universal recognition and experience was the destiny of this extraordinary heroine of the skies.

The Number 5: Adventure, Speed and Freedom

In numerology the number 5 governs speed, freedom, motion, movement, excitement and adventure. In Earhart's chart the number 5 occupies her Material Nature - her worldly personality. The number 5 is the numerical number of the name "Amelia" and also occupies the PE or outcome position of her middle name "Mary." Her full name was Amelia Mary Earhart. The timeline of "Amelia Mary" was from her birth through age 44. She died mysteriously at age 39 and was declared legally dead in absentia on 5 January 1939 at age 41. Therefore, the number 5 - the energy of speed, freedom and adventure - was dominate throughout her life until her mysterious demise.

The Oprah and Earhart Connection

Oprah Winfrey is an undisputed icon of her day, a living legend. Amelia Earhart was, likewise, an undisputed icon and living legend of her time. Both women had very similar charts, which one would expect with people having similar numbers. One of the major numerical combinations connecting them is the 1/8 Influence/Reality (IR) set which addresses the energy of individuality, leadership and action (1) and commercial success (8). Both women have this impressive 1/8 IR set in their 1st, 3rd and 4th Challenges, a unique association.

Mysterious Disappearance

Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, mysteriously disappeared on Friday, 2 July 1937 over the Pacific Ocean en route to Howland Island. What is interesting is that the Name Timeline Performance/Experience (NTL PE) of the name "Earhart" is a 55-1. The name "Howland Island" is also a 55-1! Coincidence? The science of numerology says no. Order is the first law of the universe, and in that order there is no room for coincidence. The fact that the NTL PE of Earhart and Howland Island are both 55-1s is no accident.

Summary

Amelia Earhart was a true heroine, a living legend of her time. Her numerology chart was imbued with power, adventure, originality, daring-do, global recognition and success. Some of the critical numbers in her chart reflecting these characteristics were her 99-9 PE, her 5 Material Nature, Expression of the name "Amelia" and Name Timeline PE of "Mary," as well as her 1/8 IR set in three of her four Challenges. These numbers and number combinations are all part of the destiny puzzle of American aviatrix Amelia Mary Earhart, "Heroine of the Skies." ~finis

A Guide to Pendulum Dowsing

A beginners guide to working with a Pendulum

Would you like to find lost objects; answer-puzzling questions find your lucky numbers? I bet you would. Have you ever seen anyone use a 'forked twig' (called dowsing) to locate underground water? Even if you haven't seen this in real life you must've seen it in the movies. How come some people can find water and others cannot? Is it something magical or is it something inherent in everyone?

What is dowsing? Well, it's a technique where the psychic or sensitive faculty of the brain can be used to acquire information not normally registered by the everyday / conscious mind. In finding water a forked twig is used, held outward when the Dowser finds the underground flow the rod begins to jerk (some - times violently) downward. The water does not have to flow, it can be still. I'm not going into detail about the forked twig but will explain another, even simpler, method of Dowsing (or divining) The Pendulum. In making your own Pendulum all you need is a length of cotton (or string) and a small weight. Your weight can be glass, your favourite crystal, metal, wood, or plastic, anything small enough to carry around with you. Your length of cotton should be about 30cm. Having made your Pendulum you should hold it (between thumb and forefinger) in the opposite hand to your writing hand.

Step One: First of all you need to establish a code for yes or no. Most people find a clockwise motion means yes and an anti - clockwise motion to mean no. A few experiments will soon reveal YOUR code. Sometimes a side - to - side or backwards and forwards motion occurs. Again, a little experimenting will let you know which means yes and which means no. Try this simple (but effective) experiment: Fill a dish with water, hold your Pendulum over the dish, relax your mind as best you can and ask the question: "Does the dish contain water?" You know it does, all you're attempting to find out is the motion your Pendulum is going to take for a 'yes' answer.

Try again with an empty dish noticing the direction your Pendulum is taking. Experiment like this for a few days until you feel comfortable holding your Pendulum and discovering which direction means 'yes' or 'no.' When the Pendulum moves it is NOT moving of it's own accord but is subconsciously controlled by subtle muscle movements; your muscle movements. Remembering at all times it is NOT the Pendulum, which is answering the questions; it is the psychic faculty of your own mind. In the beginning people tend to think that some mysterious force is at work and become all consumed with this magical force. Rest assured this is not so, it's all happening from within you, controlled by YOU.

Step Two: After you've experimented for a time it's only fair, at this stage, to mention what's going on. As with all other psychic techniques, from Tarot cards, Clairvoyance, to ESP, dowsing can provide information about past, present, and future. All you need to know are a few simple steps. At all times, whenever you're experimenting with the Pendulum, keep an open mind and restrict your trials to 20-30 minutes every second or third day. Don't fall into the trap of asking your Pendulum everyday questions like "should I take in the washing?"

Step Three: Let's suppose you were thinking about changing your job or asking for a raise, maybe even moving house. You should sit in your favourite chair, relaxing your mind. Write down your question on a piece of paper then hold your Pendulum above your writing pad. In a short time you'll notice the Pendulum move and according to its direction you would take you answer from there. Let's assume you received a YES answer to whether you should change jobs. You can now develop your answer by asking another question: When? You should write down a list of options, i.e. next week, next month, 6-8 weeks, etc.

Hold your Pendulum over each option and you should receive your answer accordingly. You can use this technique for a wide variety of questions, keeping an open mind as to the answers received. Another question might be: What are my lucky numbers? You would then write out a list from 1-100 and using your Pendulum hold it over each number in turn asking yes or no. You should then write down all the numbers considered lucky. You might want to use these numbers the next time you try the Lotto, Keno, Pools, etc. For those who are really interested in using the Pendulum for gambling you can pick horses in any race using the above method. Keeping in mind at all times, the information is coming from within you and not from anywhere else, if you do manage to pick a few winners or, win a few jackpots it's only because the information was there all the time.

Step Four: Apart from the fun you can have with Step three there's another useful and dramatic demonstration of Pendulum Dowsing which I would like to share with you, the finding of missing objects. As an experiment ask someone to hide something from you and then ask your Pendulum a series of questions. You should be able to locate the hidden object. Let's say your friend hid your wedding ring in a jar in the kitchen. You would begin your series of questions by asking if it were in the house, living room, hallway, etc. Once you've located the room then it's only a matter of finding out whether it is high or low. Maybe even going into the room and letting the Pendulum guide you (as you get closer it should spin wildly). You might not be successful on your first few attempts but if you persevere you'll soon become more and more accurate.

Step Five: When planning your holidays (once you've picked a few winners) you should write out a list of the places you would like to visit and ask the Pendulum which one is favourable and plan accordingly. Even if you find yourself lost (and you've become proficient in using your Pendulum) you can ask for directions, with or without a map! Here are a few other suggestions. Ask simple questions to begin with (so that you can check the answers immediately), questions such as: Is there any mail in the mailbox? Have someone hide something and holding your Pendulum try to locate it. Ask someone to place a coin in one of three upturned cups and see if you can locate the coin. Once again I repeat, the Pendulum moves because YOU make it move, the answers received are coming from within YOU and nowhere else

Unlock Your Intuition - The Power of the Pendulum

Using a pendulum is a form of 'kinesiology.' As with muscle testing, your own 'body spirit' or 'body angel' who is in charge of moving the subtle energy around your body, responds to your thoughts and words using that energy to move the pendulum and answer your questions.

Historically, dowsing (the use of a pendulum for answers) has been known for its ability to locate water, gold, oil and other minerals, but it has also been used in many instances involving issues of life and death. Many people have used the pendulum to detect allergies and other ailments, and even to accurately determine the gender and birth date of unborn babies (baby gender prediction).

Throughout history, people have turned to the pendulum to guide them when their lives were at stake. In dire circumstances during the Vietnam War, some U.S. marines were taught to use a pendulum to locate underground mines and tunnels.

Some people say that the pendulum creates a bridge between the logical and intuitive parts of the mind. Some say that the pendulum connects them with a higher power and call it "divining" as the information is believed to come from a divine source. Research by many scientists indicates that the pendulum responds to electromagnetic energy that radiates from everything on Earth. No one knows for sure how the pendulum works, but the important thing is that it does work! As Thomas Edison is said to have replied when asked about electricity: "I don't know what it is, but it's there, let's use it."

Another way of looking at it is realizing that a TV antenna can pick up invisible rays and translate them into pictures, so perhaps the inherent electrical current of the brain can also act as a receiver for which the pendulum serves as a transmitter.

But regardless, even if you do not understand how the pendulum works, just as most people don't know the inner workings of a television or telephone, you can still benefit from its use. You do not have to be psychic to use a pendulum; there is nothing magical or mystical despite the fact that friends and family are always amazed at its uncanny accuracy.

The most inexpensive pendulum can be made for less than a penny by tying a small object such as a small nut on the end of a piece of string. Expensive pendulums can be made from the finest of crystals. The crystals are believed to possess certain energies that are compatible with the user's energies to get the best results.

What makes it work? Tiny muscles in your finger tips are connected to the motor centers of the brain and it is these motor centers that are affected by unconscious thoughts. Your unconscious thoughts cause the tiny muscles in your fingers to react and thus move the pendulum. This is called the idiomatic response. The pendulum then becomes a direct link to your unconscious. And the unconscious is where thoughts and memories are stored that your conscious is unaware of. The pendulum is a means of connecting with those hidden truths and memories. You try...

Here's How to Use a Pendulum:

1. Choose A Pendulum: Allow a pendulum to choose you. If you like the way it looks or feels, it is meant for you.

2. Cleanse Your Pendulum: You may cleanse it by holding it under running cold tap water, soaking it in sea salt, or setting a mental intention to free it of 'picked up energies.'

3. Understand the Directional Swings of Your Pendulum: Pendulums swing in vertical straight lines, horizontal straight lines, and in circular movements.

4. Define the Directional Swings of Your Pendulum: Assign each directional swing a "response" by first asking the pendulum to show you what certain responses look like. Prop your elbow on the table, with the pendulum between your thumb and forefinger, Ask: What does a NO look like? What does a YES look like? or Say "My name is (your name)." This should give you a YES response. Asking it the wrong name should give you a NO response.

Pendulum Response Examples:

-vertical swing signifies NO -horizontal swing signifies YES -circular movement signifies NEUTRAL

5. Prepare Your Questions: A question should be one that can be answered with a positive, negative or neutral response. Good Example Question: Is this cereal beneficial for my body?

Poor Example Question: Will I have a boy or a girl?

6. Ask Your Questions: Be prepared to ask several questions in order to receive enough information to aid you in your quest for answers. You may need to ask several questions about the same subject in order to get accurate information. For example:

-Is this cereal beneficial for my body? Response: No -Is the oat flour in the cereal beneficial for my body? Response: Yes (oats are ok) -Is the barley in the cereal beneficial for my body? Response: Yes (barley is ok)

Is the corn flour in the cereal beneficial for my body? Response: No (there is your answer. Your body cannot tolerate corn products at this time.) Remember your body can tolerate some foods one day and not the next. Therefore it is important to use your pendulum daily if on a special food program.

7. Between Questions: Make sure to completely stop any pendulum motion between questions to clear any lingering energies that pertain to the previous question.

8. Have fun. Keep an open mind!
