Top 3 Signs That Your House May Be Haunted

Many individuals that experience unusual phenomenon in their homes often ask themselves, "Is my house haunted?" The truth of the matter is, since the release of popular televised shows such as the Ghost Hunters TV show, A Haunting, and Ghost Adventures, many individuals are starting to attest unusual sounds, strange smells, unexplained fluctuations in temperatures, and even electrical complications to be real ghosts in their home. While all of these are signs of a potential haunting, it is important to know that they could be related to common issues typically experienced by a homeowner. In this guide, you will be introduced to the top 3 signs that your house may be haunted.

1. As mentioned previously, many individuals that believe their house is haunted have typically experienced some type of electrical fluctuation in the home. There are many different situations that could result in this type of activity. Examples include faulty wiring, issues with the electrical wiring running to the home, faulty circuit breakers, and even malfunctioning equipment. If you experience fluctuations in electricity or with appliances that are powered by electricity, it is important to have a professional electrician come in to determine if there is an issue. If no problem can be detected, your house may be haunted.

2. Many individuals that believe their house is haunted may experience terrifying situations such as seeing furniture and other belongings levitating, observing apparitions that are half body or full body, and even observing items being thrown around in the home. On the most part, there are very few explanations associated with these types of activities. If you have seen these types of activities in your home, there is a very good chance that there is a spiritual explanation.

3. In many cases where a person feels as if their home is haunted, they will have stated that they have experienced a personal physical attack of some type. The person may find scratch marks on their body, they may become extremely sick for no reason at all, and may even suffer from other physiological and psychological complications.

Naturally, the top 3 signs identified in this guide are among the most serious that may be experienced when a home is haunted. Do you find yourself asking, "Is my house haunted?", if so, it may be time to refer to a group of ghost investigators so that a ghost study may be conducted.

The Fascinating Magic Spells

A magic spell is essentially a ritualized method of focusing the mind to help achieve a particular purpose. The key to spell craft is to decide what you want to achieve by concentrating on the appropriate image or words. In white magic, many of the magic spells that are cast are beneficial in purpose. White witches have been known to work such magic when it is perceived to be for the greater good.

Another advanced exercise is to try visualizing a piece of fruit. Use all your senses - see the fruit, touch it, smell it and eat it, hear the crunch as you bite into it.

What is a Grey Alien?

A Grey, or Grey Alien, is the common archetype that is reported when people claim to have seen or in some other way experienced Alien life here on Earth. The Archetype first developed as small Green Aliens came initially, but as more reports began to emerge, this color was changed from green to grey. The first evident report of a Grey Alien was due to an Abduction case dealing with Betty and Barney Hill.

However, over the years, this archetype has spread to the mainstream media, and often, resulting alien sightings reflect this new archetype. This has happened enough to where the concept has infiltrated popular culture, and its assumed that many reportings of 'greys' may be assumed as resultant, or even a copy of, what is portrayed in the media. However, the initial foundational reports, and even some more credible reports still have a foundational basis that they were not influenced by the media.

Since this time, several different theories have evolved as to what a Grey Alien actually is. At first, they were assumed to be beings in their own right, but two predominant theories persist that break down this notion.

From the skeptic community, many have suggested that electromagnetic influence on the brain (such as from a Television, etc) create the concept of the Greys. Often, during a sleep state, our dreams are influenced by the physiological changes around us. For years, electromagnetic radiation has caused people to feel as if they are being watched, or that something is in the room with them. When the rare occassion happens that this results in a hallucination, these beings are often lithe; mysterious; grey-scale creatures. Often, many describe something very similiar to what we percieve as 'Greys'.

A second concept, from the believer community, has emerged. They hypothesize that greys are actually servitor beings of more advanced alien species; like robots. A few hold that they are actually alien beings in space suits, designed to allow them to interact in our environment without risk to themselves. In terms of how we would handle the investigation of an alien civilization, I think this is somewhat plausible.

However, what you believe is up to you. Both theories make sense, and either one could be the truth of the matter. Encounters that support both theories are equally prolific and documented; though university research tends to lend towards the skeptic idea. But I invite you to make your own. Below, you will find a link to my blog, in which anonymous users can post their experiences or their criticisms. I invite you to take a look, or make your own post on the matter.

Top 5 Myths About Real Witches

Many people have vague ideas of what real witches are, usually formed by children's stories or by the faith that they learned whilst growing up. To compound the problem, many people will simply parrot the information they've heard or assumed as fact - so when you are exploring the concept of witchcraft, you will come across many of these myths and misleading "facts". Here are a few of the most popular myths about witches, debunked.

Myth #1: Real witches are Wiccan

Witchcraft and Wicca are two entirely separate things. Saying that they are the same is akin to saying that artists and christians are the same. Witchcraft is a craft or skill, just as cooking is a craft or skill. It can be learned and practiced by anyone who can follow instructions and focus on what they're doing. Wicca is a religion, constructed in the 1950's by a man named Gerald Gardner. Some Wiccans are witches, but not all witches are Wiccans.

Myth #2: Real witches worship satan, and "pagan" means "satanist"

Witches do not believe in Satan. Satan himself is a construct of the Christian faith, as a counterpart to the religion's God. Therefore, to put it quite simply, to believe in Satan you first have to believe in God, which requires you to be a Christian.

Also, pagan comes from the Latin word "paganus", meaning villager, or someone who lived out of the city as a rural peasant. As the Christian faith spread, the outlying towns were often holdovers of polytheistic faiths, and as such those far-flung villagers were at first rightly called pagans (villagers, out of the city). However, the term morphed from that rightful meaning into a meaning of "not believing in God", as the unconverted did not. Today it has come to mean a person who does not believe in a monotheistic (one god) religion.

Myth #3: The pentagram is the symbol of Satan

The pentagram can be found dating back as far as 3,000 BC in Mesopotamian writings, having an astrological meaning; it represented the five planets Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Venus. Since then it has appeared in many different cultures and represented many groups, including having a sacred meaning for Christians. - In Judaism it is the Seal of Solomon. - In Taoism it symbolises the five elements wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. - In Mormonism the pentagram appears inverted in many Temples - In Christianity the pentagram represents the five senses, and sometimes the five wounds of Christ. In medieval times Christians actually wore pentagrams in the belief that it would protect them from demons. - Both Ethiopia and Morocco have pentagrams on their country's flag. - Satanism uses the pentagram inverted, or pointing down, to symbolize pointing towards Hell, with the two upward points representing the devil's horns. - In Witchcraft, the pentagram points up towards the heavens, and the points represent earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. There are many different types of real witches, however, and Reconstructionist witches do not recognize or use the pentagram at all.

Myth #4: All real witches are female

Both men and women can practice witchcraft, and both may refer to themselves as "witches". Some modern-day men refer to themselves as "wizards" in an attempt to denote masculinity, and authors frequently use the term "wizard" to denote a male witch. In Old English, "wicca" (wik-ka) meant "male wizard or sorcerer" and "wicce" (witch-ee) meant "female witch or sorceress".

Myth #5: The persecution of real witches is over

Unfortunately this isn't true. While we no longer have public hangings, crushings, burnings, or quarterings of witches here in the United States, that does not mean that they are not persecuted. Some witches still find that if they reveal their beliefs, some people will shun them and their families. Many find that once their beliefs are found out, their employer will fire them. Outspoken witch authors both offline and online receive very nasty "hate" mail, comments on their websites, and slandering of their names and reputations. There are many different types of persecution, not just killings.

However even today people are still being tried, convicted, and sentenced to death as witches. In many countries, witchcraft is considered a criminal offense, and those accused of it can suffer jailtime and hefty legal fees. In July of 2010 Unicef published a paper titled "Children Accused of Witchcraft" detailing the rising tragedy of children being accused of witchcraft and being cast out of their homes, tortured, abused, and even killed all across Africa. It's not just children being persecuted in Africa, however; accusations of witchcraft made against adults is extremely common and even resulted in the burnings of 11 people in Kenya in 2008. In November of 2009, a Lebanese TV anchor was charged with witchcraft and sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia. In October of 2009, five widows in India were filmed being forced to strip naked, be beaten as they were paraded through the streets, and even being forced to eat human excrement - all because a local cleric accused them of being witches. According to the BBC, widows are often targeted in an attempt to seize their land and possessions.

Remember when doing your research to explore as many resources as possible, and when you run across something that seems a little far-fetched, it's very likely it's a myth. Look up credible sources of information and weigh out all of the differing viewpoints carefully. Blessed Be!

  1. Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp (Oswiecim, Poland) - Haunted houses aren't just homes, per se. The top 10 most haunted houses in the world include any building that houses people, and this is one of the grimmest places in the world. The Auschwitx Concentration camp is has one of the most blood-stained histories in the world, with over 2 million deaths in a five-year period (1940-45). The torture and genocide that took place here is some of the most horrific in human history.
  2. Raynham Hall (Norfolk, England) - Home to England's most famous ghost, the brown lady. According to folk legend, a picture of the brown lady was captured in the mid-1930's, and that picture remains one of the most authentic ghost pictures ever taken.

How to Detect the Presence of Ghosts and Other Spirits

Haunting happens - it's more popular than many people would like to think. One of the practical aspects of every book that discusses ghosts and other paranormal activities, is a way to test if your house is haunted. In other words - how to detect the presence of ghosts and spirits? There are many ways to do so, that I'm going to describe right now.

Cold Spots

One of the most popular phenomenons regarding haunting and ghosts is called "cold spots". As the name states, those are the spots of cold air that can be sensed out of nowhere. Imagine that you're walking through warm corridor, and suddenly you can sense cold space. You're making few steps forward, and it's warm again. You're going back, and cold spot is still there. It is believed for cold spots to be places where ghosts and spirits draw psychic energies to sustain their own "life" energies. Just be careful not to consider air-conditioner for paranormal activity, please.

Sensing the Presence

Another way to detect the presence of ghosts would be to literally sense a presence of someone or something, when physically there's no one around - no people, no animals. Like you stand in the kitchen, and out of no where you can sense there's someone else in the room - you're looking around, but there is nothing but dinner on the table.

Mood changes

Ghosts and spirits, depending on their nature, can change mood in single room, or whole room. Imagine that you're watching good comedy in TV and suddenly you want to cry - it might suggest there's some sad spirit in the room. Spirits and ghosts can also create happy mood, or negative or even aggressive emotions.

Objects moving

Some intelligent spirit (meaning conscious ghosts) can move objects with invisible means. Different items might disappear and then appear in completely other place, or ghosts might also move things while you watch them (it's quite an interesting view, I have to admit).

Those are active ways of detection. You can also detect ghosts with passive means, this is - by assuming that things like weird shadows, or astral lights might suggest a presence in the building. Sometimes also nightmares, or obsessive thoughts, and finally weird behaviours of animals might suggest some paranormal activity in your house.

As you can see, there are quite a few methods of detecting the presence of ghosts and spirits. Keep them in mind, but remember to remain skeptical - not every air-conditioner is ghost.

Low Magick and High Magick

As Aleister Crowley defined Magick - "The Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will."

Low or Natural Magick evolved out of the lowlands where farmers grew crops. Many Solitary Witches and Wiccans practice Low Magick as well as many ancient Pagan (i.e., from L. paganus meaning "a countryman or country dweller") cultures did. Low Magick utilizes natural objects such as crystals, herbs, rocks, fire, air, earth, water, animal parts (i.e., not from sacrificial means but from the use of feathers, pelts, skins, horns, entrails, or bones found by a practitioner in the forest, fields, or grasslands), the weather, seasonal changes, or anything found within our environment and nature. It can be looked at as taking care of your physical earthly wants, needs, and desires such as love and relationships, money, health, personal protection and is generally short term.

Sympathetic Magick (a.k.a. Primitive or Imitative Magick) is a centuries old form of Low Magick based upon imitation and/or correspondence, practical experiences, and observations within the natural world of the past, present, and future. Imitation and correspondence are two key elements of this type of magick and represent a cause-and-effect relationship:

Imitation - refers to "like attracts or produces like" based upon the Law of Similarity where a spiritualist, for example, is able to produce any effect that she or he desires just by imitating the material object; i.e., the concept of an effect resembling its cause.

Correspondence - refers to objects having been in possession or contact with each other continue to react upon one another no matter the distance; this concept is based upon the Law of Contagion (Contact). A priestess, for instance, knows that whatever actions she performs upon or directs energy toward any material object will equally affect the individual who was once in contact with or possessed this object. This explains why practitioners of Applied Occult Metaphysics often use the personal effects of whom they are performing spellwork for; some of these personal items might include articles of clothing, hair, nail clippings, bodily fluids, photographs, or even jewelry. These items assist in empowering the spell and its potential outcome.

Also note, Sympathetic Magick is the foundation for most divinatory systems and practices where healing is concerned.

High Magick seeks to enhance your spiritual growth and development transcendentally and bring you closer to the deities; and has been claimed to have evolved from scholars and higher societies of people. This form of magick is highly used by practitioners of Kemeticism (Ancient Egyptian religion), Qabalism (Kabbalism), Enochian Magick, Tenebrae Artes (Dark Arts, Black Magick, or Infernal Sorcery), Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, and Thelema (founded and further developed by Aleister Crowley) just to name a few. High Magick, in general, invokes great spiritual energy and power and usually does not concern itself with Nature. It uses complex rituals and symbolic invocations of deities, dramatic ceremonial wardrobe, and complex concoctions such as those used within Alchemy. Ceremonial or Ritual Magick is a good example of high magick and concerns itself with the conscious application of willpower to achieve one's individual or a group's spiritual objectives.

Both forms of magick can be quite useful, effective, and almost "equal" in their strength and purpose in order to achieve the intended results of the practitioner (e.g., a priest, priestess, shaman, magickian / magician, or alternative spiritualist).
