Are UFO Sightings on the Increase?

According to The Secret UFO Reports and UFO Secret Sightings, sightings on unidentified flying objects seem to be on the increase. But why?

* Is it that people are more alert to them?
* Is our technology to find them better?
* Is there simply more UFO's around earth?
* Or are the way UFOs are reported more open to scrutiny.

The answer is a combination of the above, with a specific focus on the last question, the way in which UFOs are reported. In the UK in particular the reporting on UFOs has become more streamlined, as has getting access to those documents. The Freedom Of Information act in the UK means that anyone can ask how many UFOs have been reported to the authorities. The Ministry Of Defence will also release details of how reports are followed up. Their policy has always been that as long as sightings presented no threat to British airspace, they will not investigated further.

The British newspaper The Telegraph did just that in 2008 and the results were quite astonishing. Some 150 apparent 'flying saucers' were been reported to police, military bases and the Ministry of Defence during the first half of 2008. This compared to just 135 in UK airspace for the whole of 2007, and 97 for 2006 In America however, and certainly within Eastern Europe, Russia and China, the way in which reports of UFOs are handled varies tremendously, as does access to those files.

Certainly technology is better at finding out the truth, but getting to that truth is often a very hard journey.
